Day 7
Today was an off day. We traveled to Masaya to visit the active volcano there, and to visit one of the markets there. After a couple of hours, we drove to San Juan del Sur to eat lunch with a great view of the Pacific Ocean. It was a lot of driving, but I enjoyed it, and took tons of pics. Tomorrow we fly out form Managua around 1:00pm, and thanks to the time difference, will land in Atlanta around 6:30.

Day 6
Today the team split up again, and while Luis, Larry, and Dale went north to the camp, we headed south into Managua, to teach at a small church in the city. We ministered to the children in the morning, Graciela taught the ladies about nutrition, and the dangers of witchcraft, and there was a prayer walk in the community after the class.
Larry, Luis, and Dale finished building 8 bunk beds, and the truss was put in place.
It was a good day for everyone.

Day 5
This morning, Graciela, Patricia, Cheronne, and I went to another small community, with the community's local pastor, and visited with the families there and shared the Gospel with them. We also invited them to visit the local church in the afternoon. While we were there, Larry, Luis, and Dale went back to the camp to build bunk beds, and work on the roof trusses.
In the afternoon we taught the children about Jesus, creation, and God's love at the communities church. Graciela also taught the children's mothers about proper nutrition, and how to prepare healthier foods with the produce they have available.
Tomorrow we will travel into Managua, and minister at a church in town.

Day 4
Today we traveled to the same camp that is being built, and Larry, Luis, and Dale continued building. I went with the ladies who were going door to door with a local pastor, sharing the Gospel. Later in the day Graciela taught a workshop on nutrition, and the dangers of witchcraft and the occult, to the ladies of the church. Patricia and Cheronne shared bible stories with the children, so their mothers could attend the workshop, and I organized and supervised soccer games for the boys. I had the help of one of the pastors, since I don't speak EspaƱol.
No running water, but they've got TV.

Day 3
Today we traveled to the church camp that is under construction, and split up into 2 teams. 1 team went with the local pastor into the homes around the camp, and shared the gospel with anyone who would listen. The other team stayed at the camp and worked with the local crews to weld roof supports beams, and get it ready for cover. In the afternoon the children gathered in the local church and we shared with them stories from the Bible.
Coloring pages to go along with the stories.
We also brought a soccer ball for the kids to play with afterwards.

Day 2
Today we drove almost 2 hours to a small town, and trained a local church how to use Evangecubes. After the training we split up into groups and went door to door using them. We didn't have too long, though, before it started to rain. Around 4:00pm we attended a worship service, a couple of us shared testimonies, and Luis preached.

Nicaragua 2011, day 1
The team and I made it safe to Managua, Nicaragua, this morning. We checked in at a hotel near the airport, and spent the rest of the day organizing, and resting. Tomorrow we're going to travel to near by town and teach at one of their churches, I think. I'm pretty tired, and things are kind running together in my mind.
In case you're wondering what I'm doing here, I'm part of a team, from FBA, that's doing light construction, and evangelism in various towns near Managua. My specific responsibility is to photo/video document the trip, and bring back plenty of material to be used to encourage missions and to show what goes on.
Since today was mostly a travel day, I didn't take many photos, but here are a few I took around the hotel.
